California - Part 1

I've been back from California for exactly a week and oh, how I miss it. Some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. I took a three day road trip with one of my best friends from San Antonio, Texas to Denair, California. She got a job out there so she packed her Corolla with as many of her personal belongs as would fit and made room for me to take the drive with her. We drove up through Texas to New Mexico and Arizona and up the California coast to Denair... 1,945 miles. 

I'd never seen California before... never been farther west than Texas. I fell in love! We drove to Tuscon the first day... 13 hours. Then on to San Diego and stayed the night north of LA. The third day we drove back down to the coast and up highway 1... Santa Barbara, Malibu, Big Sur, up to Monterey and then crossed over to Denair. My favorite part was driving through the mountains and then seeing the sunset over the ocean. We listened to a lot of Typhoon, Joshua Radin and Andrew Belle. I flew home out of San Francisco, but the morning before I left I got to drive around the city a bit and eat at Mel's Drive-In.

I took a million and a half pictures on my DSLR and I'm still working my way through them. I did use my iPhone a lot, so all of these were taken with that and edited with the VSCO app.

Can't wait to go back.
