I've had a few people over the last month or so ask me where my Tunesday posts had gone. Life got pretty hectic for a while and I had begun to find myself frantically searching for music to share/talk about the night before I'd have to post and giving it very little effort. Eventually there wasn't even time for that so I decided to let Tunesday go instead of only giving it the half effort that I had been. Well life is a little slower these days and I thought I'd give it another go. Might not be an every Tuesday thing, but I love talking about and sharing music so why not? I've done away with the name and I'm starting fresh. Hi again.
+ This might be the most flawless thing I've ever heard. The Staves are Emily, Jessica and Camilla. I saw these sisters open up for The Civil Wars a couple years ago and I was completely blown away by them. I think I've talked about them in the past but I came across this and I had to share it. So beautiful.
(These Wood & Wire Sessions are pretty cool. They did a sessions with Bombay Bicycle Club, Local Natives, Aidan Knight and a bunch more.)
+ I've found so many good tracks and albums or rediscovered old favorites through mindless scrolling on Tumblr and Campfire Ok is one of the new discoveries. "My Dear Friends" is the first track I heard and it's super fun and upbeat. If it was up on Spotify I'd definitely be adding it to my Summer playlist, but it's not so... dumb.
"Our Hearts Beat Light" is another cool track from them. Make sure you hear the Jeremy Inkel remix too, it's pretty cool.
+ This is not new at all... but it felt new when I heard it again this week. "Come Thou Fount" is one of my favorite hymns ever. It brings me to tears even after the millionth listen of the hundredth cover that I hear.
This Sufjan Stevens cover is one of my favorites and was in an episode of Friday Night Lights I watched recently and I just about died. First because it was a super emotional scene (if you know me even a little you know my obsession and love affair with this show... oh man) and second it's just so really really good. I know it's off a Christmas album and everything, but seriously... so good.

+ One of the music blogs that I'm always reading is The Wild Honey Pie and they recently featured Trails and Ways. They sing in Portuguese, Spanish, and English so even though I don't know what they're saying all the time (I barely passed Spanish in high school...) their EP Trilingual has become a lovely addition to my Summer soundtrack. My favorite track off the EP is "Mtn Tune"... check it out below!
